LITHOS
Ragul BalamuruganLithos is a sculptural 3D-printed mule inspired by geological strata rising from a solid rock bed. Layered forms grow upward from the sole, wrapping the foot like sediment deposits formed over time. Beneath, a fossil-inspired outsole texture represents the rock bed, preserving traces of ancient imprints while providing traction.
Lithos draws inspiration from stratified rock formations, sandstone cliffs, and fossils preserved within sedimentary layers. The design translates the slow geological processes of compression, layering, and erosion into a wearable form—imagining footwear as a fragment of the earth shaped by time.
