This design seeks a balance between sleek refinement and sculptural volume. The form is intentionally chunky yet fluid, allowing the mule to project a sense of weight while maintaining visual lightness and movement.

Balae is inspired by the form of the blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus). The design translates the whale’s streamlined body into a smooth, sleek upper, contrasted by a ribbed base referencing its ventral grooves, creating a fluid interplay between motion, texture, and form.
